Why you should buy your ticket on B&B 7 Vizi.
Highlights
The Genoa Aquarium is an aquarium located in Ponte Spinola, in the sixteenth-century old port of Genoa.
At the time of its inauguration it was the largest in Europe and the second in the world.
The 2 hour and 30 minute tour includes 39 tanks in addition to the 4 open-air tanks of the Cetacean Pavilion
opened in the summer of 2013. The total surface area of the structure is 27,000 square meters.
The tanks house approximately 15,000 animals of 400 different species including fish, marine mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians,
invertebrates in environments that reproduce the original ones of the individual species with obvious educational purposes.
Four large tanks allow you to observe the animals from two different levels; they respectively house the manatees,
sharks of various species, seals, penguins. Thanks to the new Cetacean Pavilion, dolphins can be admired both from above,
thanks to a large glass wall with an opening window, both from an underwater perspective thanks to the glass tunnel of
15 meters long and the large acrylic 20 meters long.
Twice a day, the public can witness the dolphins feeding time with a trainer on hand to
tell curiosities and information about the biology of animals and the daily work necessary to maintain these animals.
The special "Aquarium Adventure" and "Secret Aquarium" itineraries are particularly suitable for children: they allow them to
discover what lies behind the tanks and see the secret areas of the Aquarium. Children will be able to understand and learn
much more than the beauty of the aquarium.
